Welcome to the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of BETTERINVESTING
YEAR END CLUB ACCOUNTING TAX CLASS: Every investment partnership must file an annual tax return with the federal government. Some must also file with state governments. There's no escaping the IRS: investment clubs are legally required to file tax returns -- even clubs that lost money or didn't make any trades during the year. Clubs must file Form 1065 with the IRS, as well as provide a Schedule K-1 for each member.

Club Visits
Is your club having problems? Help is here! Chapter directors routinely make visits to clubs to help them solve problems they are having.
Most clubs that request on-hands help are interested in deepening their members' understanding of how to manage their portfolios and, in particular, when to sell problem stocks. The Chapter can also help with many aspects of starting and running a club as well gaining an understanding of investment principles.
If you are having any problems in your club, please contact us! Click here for a club visit form. Contact Ellen Conrad at naicsf@yahoo.com for more information.
The Model Club Meets the Second Monday of each month. The next meeting is February 12th in Menlo Park.
The Observation Club meets on the Third Tuesday of each month. Next meeting is February 20th in Walnut Creek (no July meeting). Please check the events section for more details.
