The Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter of BetterInvesting is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization that helps members and the Public become successful investors. Currently it includes 1,020 Investment Clubs, 9,516 Club Members and 936 individual members in Minnesota and bordering areas of Wisconsin and North Dakota.

What do Chapter Directors and Volunteers do?

1. Sponsor and teach 50 classes and seminars each year.
2. Lead a computer group that provides education and discussion with an emphasis on computer programs and the Internet
3. Host an Investors Fair each spring where companies and investors meet.
4. Support and make visits to Investment Clubs.
5. Monitor and update a Chapter page on the BetterInvesting web site.
6. Maintain a telephone hotline for Chapter related questions
7. Develop corporate relationships.

Are you wondering if you should get involved? Ask yourself these questions:

1. Am I enthusiastic about BetterInvesting's philosophy of investing to the point that I would like to share that knowledge with others?
2. Would I like to be on a team that directs the operations of a large organization?
3. Do I have a few hours a month to commit to a satisfying volunteer activity?
4. Do I enjoy teaching or assisting teachers?
5. Do I like helping Investment Clubs?
6. Do I like to work with Investor relations representatives?
7. Do I like organizing and producing events such as the Investors Fair?
8. Am I computer literate and do I enjoy working with databases?

I made this kind of call a few years ago. Since then I have had fun making new friends, learning about investing and have had the satisfaction of helping others become better investors.
