Our Education chairperson, Margaret Kelly, will help your investment club set up an education seminar based on the interests of your own club. You choose the topic. Your club would also help to set up a time and place for your seminar. You can ask several clubs to join together for this education opportunity. If you are not a member of a club, you could get together a group of other individual investors and/or clubs in your area. The cost of offering the seminar is kept down when clubs help with the arrangements. If you are interested in a seminar, please contact Margaret Kelly at mck1947@theinter.com . This is an excellent opportunity to plan an investment seminar right in your own area on an investment topic you're ready to learn more about.

The Illowa Buy States Chapter-BetterInvesting is pleased to announce the newest service available to investment clubs. We call it "The Club Portfolio Review"! The Chapter will assist the club in a full review of all stocks in the portfolio as well as checking to see how well diversified the club is. We will bring a laptop and LCD projector to the club meeting with all the information necassary to do an SSG on each stock. We will assist and guide the club in finishing SSG's on each stock, but the actual buy and sell decisions will be up to the club members. Our job will be to provide guidelines and unbiased opinions. These sessions could easily last 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the number of stocks your club owns. We would need the list of your stocks at least 2 weeks before attending your club meeting to give us time to get the data and look over the companies. The charge to your investment club for this portfolio review will be $5 per member with a maximum charge of $50. All monies go to the Chapter to help provide further education and assistance to clubs in our area. We also have a service called "Classes to Go" We will come right to your club and put on a class. You can call me for details and to schedule a class. Price is determined by time and distance traveled. We have a laptop computer, LCD projector and screen, so can do a class anywhere.
