Training on Demand
The Southeast Florida Chapter of NAIC has a new program,
Training on Demand, where we bring our investing education directly to your club or group. We will provide 'private' investing educational training classes to your members at your location upon request. We have a wide variety of classes available, or will tailor the materials to suit the needs of your group. Some examples are:
- Basic Principles for New Investors
- Stock Selection Guide [SSG]
- Investor's College 100 Series
- Take Stock
- Club Accounting
- Hands on SSG
- Computerized SSG Class - Click-by-click (Hands-on SSG)
Most instruction is in the typical classroom format, but we are particularly proud of our newest class, Computerized SSG Class - Click-by-Click (Hands-on SSG). This class provides direct hands-on SSG training with the use of the official NAIC Investor's Toolkit 5, the popular computer program for fundamental analysis of stocks. You will leave with a good understanding of the "what and why" techniques of the NAIC stock analysis method---the SSG. A summary of the theory and a handout of every keystroke needed to make a stock analysis will be provided. We make it simple for you.
Here is what you need to do:
a) You schedule the training,
b) You provide the meeting place,
c) You notify the attendees,
d) You duplicate the handouts for the attendees,
e) You are encouraged to supply your own laptop or desk computers as available,
f) The attendees must be familiar with the basics of the Windows operating system,
g) It is desirable that attendees be familiar with the official NAIC Investor's Toolkit 5 program.
Here is what the SE Florida Chapter Trainer will do:
a) Provide up to a maximum of six laptop computers (for two attendees per computer),
b) Load your computers with all necessary data and demonstration programs,
c) Provide the masters of all handouts for duplication,
d) Provide an experienced Trainer to conduct the class,
e) Provide additional assistant trainers to guide the attendees during the session,
f) Provide a work station and LED projection, so that each attendee can follow the Trainer Click-by-Click with Investor's Toolkit examples,
g) Provide overhead projection of each step of the Click-by-Click procedure,
h) Complete two presentations of the training material. The first presentation will be a theory, judgment and a Click-by-Click "how to" session. This will be somewhat detailed so that everyone, of varying skill levels, will be able to understand the material. The second will be a review of the above to solidify the information. Different stocks will be studied at each presentation. During the second presentation the attendees will switch positions at the computers so that everyone gets hands on experience.
i) The training will be about of two hours long plus with a short rest break between sessions. Training sessions longer than two hours become less effective as there is more material than can be absorbed at one time,
j) Class size is limited to 24 attendees,
k) Four weeks minimum advance notice is required for the Chapter to group the computers and schedule a trainer. Schedules will need to be coordinated as the computers and trainers may have other commitments.
COST: These private Training on Demand (Classes at Your Location) are provided at a minimum cost of $300 or $20 per attendee, whichever is greater. This works out to be about $15 per attendee hour for a class of 10, a very favorable cost. Larger class sizes result in the minimum cost of $10/hr. for each attendee.
The Chapter has a wide variety of classes available to clubs and a 'club visit' program to assist you. All are available upon request, some are without charge and others vary in cost, dependent on content. Check us out.
