SF Bay Area Chapter Model and Observation Clubs

The Model Club: On the Peninsula

The purpose of the Commuter Computer Model Club (C.C.I.) is to provide the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter with a model investment club that is guided by NAIC principles. Observers can watch an actual meeting take place and then stay for a question and answer period at the end. While the club members all use NAIC software and do online research for stock studies, the club follows an agenda and uses procedures appropriate for any investment club. Most of the members are chapter directors and experienced investors. However, the club is open to new members who are willing to participate in these open meetings and to help with Chapter workshops and activities. The Model Club meets the third Monday of the month in Menlo Park. No advance reservations are required, but email Helga Maaser at: helgam@earthlink.net to verify meeting date, time and place.

The Observation Club: In the East Bay

Rainmakers, formally known as The Diablo Valley Women's Investment Club, began in 1998. The club has done very well using NAIC principles and following a strict investing discipline of making regular investments, buying growth stocks, having a diversified portfolio, and reinvesting earnings. Though it is not the Chapter Model Club, Rainmakers allows SFBA Chapter members an opportunity on the East side of the Bay to see a club in action.  Rainmakers follows all NAIC principles and uses SSGs for every stock presentation. Rainmakers meets the third Tuesday of the month in Walnut Creek. Advanced reservations are required as there is limited space. If you want to watch them in action contact Sue Larsen (below) and she will send you their guidelines for observers.
