Class Descriptions:
B-03: Stock Selection Guide (SSG) Front Side
Is it a growth company? BetterInvesting investors look for well-managed growth companies at the right price. The SSG is our tool. This class will teach you how to complete the Front Side of the form and determine if your company is a growth company. Bring a pencil with eraser, highlighters and a calculator. No prerequisite.

B-04: Stock Selection Guide (SSG) Back Side
We are looking for a company with good management at the right price. How do I determine good management? What is the right price? This class will aid you in answering these questions by completing the Back Side of the Stock Selection Guide and will also teach you to ask additional "right questions." Bring a pencil with eraser, highlighters and a calculator. Prerequisite: B-03

B-07: Annual Reports
Does your mailbox and desk overflow with these reports? Are you not sure what to do with them? Learn what makes up an Annual Report; learn the importance of each part; and learn how to analyze the four financial statements that are contained within. Students are encouraged to bring their calculators with them. No Prerequisite.

B-08: Internet Resources
Where do you go for the additional information you need for your stock studies? Internet Resources will show you those sites helpful to complete your stock studies and help you follow your portfolio. We will also show you how to add your favorite URLS to your software analysis program. No Prerequisite.

S-05: Toolkit 5 Computer Lab
Learn how to use Toolkit 5 to complete the Stock Selection Guide (SSG) using S&P Stock Data Service (SDS). We will be working on computers! New features in Toolkit 5 will be discussed in detail. These include Offensive & Defensive Alerts, Portfolio Report Card, "Requires Attention: Flags, Challenger, Portfolios, and undocumented hot-keys. Your attention will also be called to the Expanded Features. (Class will break for lunch from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM.) Prerequisite B-03, B-04, some Toolkit experience and basic computer knowledge.

S-06: Stock Analyst
We will review I-Club's most powerful investing software, Stock Analyst for experienced investors. Stock Analyst is packed with customizable features for stock-picking and portfolio management. Unique features include balance sheet and annual report analysis, and a trend graph to compare various ratios. Prerequisite: B-03 and B-04. Level: Experienced.

S-07: Portfolio Manager
This class will teach how easy it is to use the Portfolio Manager Software. We will provide you with a free Demo disk. Bring your laptop if you have one. The class will cover ways to use Portfolio Manager when preparing taxes, and how to use the software to help diversify your portfolio. Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge.

E-05: Value Analysis
In order to determine the value of a share of stock it is necessary to compare the price with one or more elements of the stock. This class will address supplementary elements to compare with your Stock Selection Guide (SSG) judgment by looking at Book Vale, Sales and Cash Flow on a per share basis. We will also study Return on Investment, Payback Period and the relation of bond yields to share prices. Prerequisite: B-03 and B-04. Level Advanced.
