OCTOBER 2003Printer Friendly VersionBetterInvesting Loses A Great Man in Lloyd Elrod, KC NAIC DirectorLloyd Elrod died September 25, 2002. Lloyd was a charter member and Director Emeritus of the Kansas City Chapter of BetterInvesting. When our Council (now known as Chapter) was founded in 1984, Lloyd was a loyal participant in making the Chapter known as one of the great chapters in the country. In the early days, Lloyd made numerous visits to existing clubs and helped form many new clubs. He arranged for a teaching program to be held in his Valley View United Methodist Church. He kept and dispersed the BetterInvesting supplies, and along with his wife, Pat (also chapter Director Emeritus), was always among the very first to be present at a NAIC program to help with setting up or as an aid in teaching. Lloyd and Pat were charter members of the Kansas City Model Investment Club, and they attended and assisted at many National Congresses. They believed in the conservative BetterInvesting principles and taught them to their children. Lloyd will be greatly missed among local and national BetterInvesting members. Lloyd was proud to have served his country as a B-17 navigator during World War II. Our condolences are extended to Pat and the family. |
