OCTOBER 2003Printer Friendly VersionInvestment Club InformationLooking for a club to join or members for your club? Due to SEC regulations, BetterInvesting/NAIC and its chapters are unable to refer individuals to specific investment clubs that might have openings for new members. In addition, investment clubs are not permitted to advertise for members. If you are interested in joining an existing club, or your club is looking for new members, the best way to find each other is to attend our educational offerings. At many chapter events, we provide a sign-up sheet for "Clubs looking for People" and "People looking for Clubs". By networking this way, with other NAIC members, individuals and clubs often get together. Clubs that Welcome VisitorsAre you an investment club that would welcome a visitor? The Central Arkansas BetterInvesting Chapter is compiling a list of clubs that welcome visitors. If you wish to have visitors attend your meetings to learn about BetterInvesting/NAIC and how your club functions, please send the following to President@CentralAR.BetterInvesting.net 1. The name of your club. 2. The area (Little Rock, Hot Springs, Searcy and so on) your club meets in. 3. The first name of a contact person. (Please-- first name only.) 4. The phone number and/or email address that person can be reached at to find out more about the club and set up a visit. 5. Whether your club is all male, all female or coed. We will make these listings available to people who want to know how an investment club operates. Note: this is a way for people to observe a club in action. So, if your club is open to have visitors in attendance, please contact us. Do you know who your Club Contact is?Investment clubs need to make sure they have a designated Club Contact. Club Contacts please forward address changes directly to the NAIC at PO Box 220, Royal Oak, MI 48068. Include the new address, old address, and NAIC member number. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ADDRESS CHANGES TO YOUR LOCAL CHAPTER!! Club Presidents: Please provide your Club Contact to NAIC Headquarters. This will enable the Central Arkansas Chapter to mail a monthly postcard to the Club Contacts with information on Chapter activities. It is the responsibility of the Club Contact to disseminate that information to all club members. |
