JANUARY 2004Printer Friendly VersionImaginary Stock Portfolio GameThe Imaginary Stock Portfolio Game pits Alaska BetterInvesting members against each other in a year-long stock portfolio buy and hold contest. Teams consisting of one to three players select four stocks for their portfolio using the BI research tools, SSG, PERT, etc. Each team "invests" $25,000 in each stock for a total portolio beginning value of $100,000. The game runs from October 2005 to September 2006, just prior to the September 23, 2006 Chapter Annual Meeting. The winning team must attend the Annual Meeting to be awarded "The Bull". Quarterly reports will be posted the first week in January, April and July. Here are the rules. They can also be downloaded as a file. 1. Each team will purchase four stocks for their portfolio. 2. Each team will buy $25,000.00 worth of each stock for their portfolio. The total value of the portfolio will be no more than $100,000.00 3. The purchase price for the portfolio will be the closing price of the stock on Wednesday, October 5, 2005. 4. This will be a buy and hold stock game. 5. The sell date will be the Monday before the next annual meeting. 6. Dividends and interest will not be figured in the closing portfolio. 7. Stock splits will be included in the closing portfolio. 8. The team whose portfolio has made the greatest monetary improvement will be awarded "The Bull". The team must attend the annual meeting to receive their award. 9. Quarterly reports of the "Imaginary Stock Portfolio" will be posted on the Alaska Chapter website the first week of January, April and July. 10. All team entries of "Imaginary Stock Portfolio" must be postmarked no later than Saturday, October 1, 2005. 11. You are to be a member of one team only. 12.
