JUNE 2005Printer Friendly Version"I suppose I might have learned all this on my own without belong to an investment club (I now belong to three clubs). However I wonder if I would have pushed so hard to regularly do my research and prepare studies if I didn't know that folks would be waiting for my input and contributions at a meeting tomorrow? Would I have been so alert to current news if I wasn't on the lookout for information on a particular industry, sector of the economy or trend? Would I have ferreted out articles on companies if its subject wasn't a stock one of the clubs owned or was interested in? And would I have done all this consistently over time, month in and month out?" "Perhaps the most valuable thing membership in an investment club gives is the chance for discussion with your peers -- the issues raised, the questions tossed back and forth and the debate on pros and cons of a topic. So much of investing is developing judgment -- and a club experience contributes to and accelerates that process!"
