BI > APRIL 2003Portable Document Format (help)Printer Friendly Version CompuFest 2003Innovative 'Sudden Series' To Debutby Sandra F. Barlow
The unexpected twists and turns of life sometimes leave you in precarious or uncertain places. Often, money plays a big part in dealing with crises and life-changing events, whether there's a sudden lack of funds because of a change in income or a windfall that brings an influx of cash. What's worse, it can be hard to find sensible advice about coping with these changes. Help is on the way -- if you attend CompuFest 2003 in Anaheim, Calif., June 27-29. A new set of courses, the "Sudden Series," will focus on some of life's unexpected events. Held on Friday afternoon, four sessions conducted by some of the Computer Group's most popular instructors will attempt to shed light on the mysteries that come with abrupt life changes. First, Pam Wright will address those who are suddenly in sole charge of their financial health in "Suddenly Single." Whether recently divorced, widowed or separated, you'll hear advice about facing the challenges of living on a reduced income or having sole responsibility for managing the finances of your household (and perhaps a dating tip or two!). Phil Keating offers advice for those fortunate enough to be faced with "Sudden Wealth," whether from inheritance, the sale of a family business or even winning the lottery. In "Suddenly an Investor," Saul Seinberg discusses what to do when you wake up one morning with the stunning realization that you'd better be implementing -- or turbocharging -- your retirement plans, or else risk spending your golden years in poverty. Finally, a panel discussion with the three instructors will give attendees the chance to pose questions and explore items of interest in greater depth. The innovative "Sudden Series" is just one example of the new offerings at CompuFest 2003. For more information and complete descriptions of CompuFest seminars, visit www.compufest2004.com.
