The Eagles' Nestegg Investment Club, LLC, was organized in Eagle, Idaho, in 1997. Our goal as a club is to help one another become prosperous by practicing the basic principles we have learned along the way. We are continually learning how to invest in solid companies by using methods taught to us by BetterInvesting. Last year we entered the club performance survey sponsored by BetterInvesting Magazine. We were rated at the 90th percentile of all participating clubs for the 12 months ended April 30, 2004. How did we do it? It has taken several years of education and hard work. We are continually learning how to invest in solid companies by using methods taught to us by BetterInvesting. We bring a company to the table with information about the performance, management and P/E history before we even begin to focus on purchasing. We then have members work up a Stock Selection Guide with the use of Value Line and research the company using the Internet, annual reports and magazine articles. This information is brought to the table again, and if the company looks like a suitable investment and we have the money, we then make a motion to purchase. Our members volunteer to follow each and every company. Yes, we're like any other club. We have struggled with loss of members, when to sell a company, what brokerage to use and small things like agreeing on meeting times. For the most part, we're sticking together with a team of 10 women members, eight of whom are charter members. Although we're few, we work very well together and have become friends. Our club's mission statement is "to learn how to invest wisely in the stock market without taking any undue risks. The club's goals are to increase the education, enjoyment and financial reward of our members." by Ginger Smart, The Eagles' Nestegg Investment Club, LLC, Eagle, Idaho |
