by NAIC's BetterInvesting Computer Group Advisory Board

The NAIC Computer Group Advisory Board is excited about CompuFest 2005 for many reasons. The June gathering itself will provide investors with all sorts of better investing ideas, of course. Those who can briefly tear themselves away from the sessions or who can stay a day or two extra will find the area offers lots of enjoyable sights and activities.

Port of Call for Investment Education. Visit the Cyber Cafe to pick up stock ideas and to socialize with fellow investors at CompuFest 2005, being held this June in Buffalo, N.Y.

The city. Buffalo, N. Y., is going to surprise a lot of people. The town offers lots of opportunities. If music is among your top choices, there are several jazz clubs. In addition, free concerts are held throughout the summer.

For family excursions, there's the fascinating Buffalo Zoological Gardens and the city's outstanding Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Buffalo also features botanical gardens, a historical society, a science museum and Old Fort Erie, a strategic military site during the War of 1812.

Convention attendees will be just two blocks from the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park. It's the largest inland facility of its kind in the nation, and exhibits include a World War II submarine. Heard of Buffalo wings? This is their birthplace and the place to find some of the best wings.

There's plenty to do in Buffalo. Check out the possibilities at the city's Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The area. The community has opened up hiking trails along the Erie Canal for those who want to enjoy the outdoors. Niagara Falls is just 25 miles away, and that city also offers many choices. In addition to the falls themselves, there's the Aquarium of Niagara and the Niagara Aerospace Museum.

If you plan to cross into Canada, though, take your birth certificate or passport for identification. Check with your auto insurance carrier to be sure you'll be covered for travel there.

You'll love Lockport, just down the road, where you can watch the big boats "lock through." These are just a few of the attractions. June is definitely the very best time to be in this area.

The accommodations. CompuFest's host hotel is the Adam's Mark in Buffalo's downtown district. The facility has excellent meeting rooms, an indoor pool and a workout room. Best of all, you won't have to trek far to attend meals and classes.

The learning. CompuFest's reputation for excellent education continues. There will be 50 classes to choose from -- five choices for each information session.

In addition, the popular Newbies and Family Youth programs will provide customized instruction to those groups. This ensures that no one will leave Buffalo without heaping helpings of newly acquired financial knowledge.

The technology. You'll be able to try out different software in the Computer Lab. You also can do some socializing in the Cyber Café, where we meet to exchange photos, SSGs, computer tips, e-mail -- just about everything. And don't forget, it's wireless, so bring your laptop and join the fun.

Mark June 17-19, 2005, on your calendar and join us for the 15th annual CompuFest. We want to see you, both old friends and new friends to be.

For more information, visit the official Web site for CompuFest 2005. Details will be posted on the site as they become available, and registration will begin in early 2005. See you in Buffalo!
